Incarnation in Unexpected Places

Christmas can hold joy—and also grief, pressure, longing, and complicated family dynamics. In this quiet conversation, Tym House and Anny Stevens-Gleason sit with the nativity story (Mary, Joseph, “no room,” and the stable) and ask what it feels like in the body—especially for queer people navigating welcome, rejection, chosen family, and resilience.

This isn’t about fixing Christmas or finding a “light side.” It’s about telling the truth: you don’t have to feel the right thing, you’re not doing Christmas wrong, and you belong. We end with a blessing for whatever you’re carrying this season—and a reminder that God is born anyway, even in borrowed spaces.

Content note: discussion of grief, family tension/rejection themes, and church-based exclusion.
