Cincinnati Pride Part 2: Prioritizing Love

In this heartfelt and passionate episode, Anny and Tym wrestle with the question: “What would Jesus do?”—especially in the context of Pride, exclusion, and how different churches interpret scripture and LGBTQ+ inclusion. They reflect on their personal experiences at Pride, contrasting affirming Christian presence with those that condemn.

They explore how interpretations of scripture—particularly John 3:16–21—are used to justify vastly different theological and social stances. Tym shares regret over his past in exclusionary spaces, and both hosts challenge the weaponization of Christianity against marginalized communities.

The conversation turns toward definitions of inclusion, critiques of performative allyship, and why exclusion from certain sponsorships or partnerships (like rejecting donations from anti-LGBTQ+ groups) is not hypocrisy, but a stand for integrity and alignment with core values.

Anny and Tym return repeatedly to the central teaching of Jesus: Love God. Love your neighbor. Love yourself. They name the exhaustion that comes from navigating faith in hostile climates, yet hold on to hope found in small shifts, honest dialogue, and the unwavering truth that God is love—and love must be the priority.
